About us…
Gillett Farmers and Businessmen’s Club was founded in the 1940s established primarily as a booster organization for the Gillett schools. Over the years it has served many purposes supporting different needs in the local community, while the majority of funds went to the purchase of football letterman jackets and awards. Since the closure of Gillett High School, the Coon Supper proceeds have been repurposed as academic scholarships.
The Coon Suppers stretch back to the 1930s—predating the club itself—when locals gathered for the original Coon Hunts followed by a time of fellowship. The Gillett and Tichnor communities continue to come together in times of need or celebration, and this event is no exception. One thing is for certain, the annual Coon Supper has continued the tradition of fellowship for almost a century.
